Address: Rusarebo Äng, 330 15 Bor
The Rusarebo meadow lies to the east of the lake Hindsen. The open meadow, spotted with bits of deciduous forest, reaches from the lake and up the slopes. Here are numerous bird and flower species, among others the orchid Sankt Pers Keys from May to June. Meadows were once the foundation of the swedish agriculture, but today this beautiful nature has almost gone entirely lost. Luckily, the Rusarebo meadow remains!
The curious visitors may find most of Swedens "noble" tree-kinds here; elm, ash, linden, and maple. Formerly beeches grew here lively, but sadly the total amount has dropped by more than 90% the last 300 years. Today you can only find them in the southern part of Rusarebo, together with the area "The Church", characterized by its ravelslopes and caveformations.
Other interesting plants that grow here are pale wetrose, liverwort, cowslip, night violet, tooth root, and baneberry. In the ravelslopes you may also spot badgers.
During spring and early summer, the birds sing their melodies. Most active are warbler, garden warbler, willow warbler, blackcap, and blackbird.
If you follow the path from the parking-slots at the yard of Tagel, you will first encounter a dense and beautiful beech forest.
