Address: Slättö, 330 12 Forsheda
Slättö Sand lies 3 km north of lake Bolmen. It is one of the largest inland sand fields in Sweden. It has dense pine woodland, but one area is completely dominated by sand. There you can find many insects including burrowing bees and hymenopters.
If you follow the marked trail to the viewpoint, you can easily sense the curved lines of the sandy fields. Approximately five miles to the west, you will see the church of Ås. Insects are detectable on the open sand areas along the trail. Parts of the reservation are damagable if heavy trampling occurs. Therefore walk on the already existing paths.
By the parking lot there is an information board, footpath, viewpoint, toilets, barbecue and handicapped accessible rest area.
