Address: Bolmen, 33012 Forsheda
Bolmen is the 10th largest lake in Sweden with an area of 184 km2. The sea is 37 m deep at the deepest part. The northern part of the lake is relatively shallow and a good habitat for the zander, especially in the spring there are really large amounts. 6 km of the Storån stream is also available for fishing.
In Bolmen there are 24 species of fish with very good stock of zander, pike and perch. You may also fly-fish for pike and perch. Spring and autumn are the traditional periods for pike fishing but most of the other species can be caught all year round. During winter angling or ice fishing for burbot, perch, pike and zander is also a treat.
Bream, tench, eel and burbot also attract anglers to Bolmen. There is also a stock of brown trout but it has proven to be very hard to catch.
You can fish from the beaches but the fishing on a boat increases variation.
