Visit Store Mosse National park – Sweden’s biggest marshland south of Lapland! Choose from over 40 km of walking trails, and explore unique landscape with an abundance of bird species. There are stopover cabins, viewing towers, grill sites and 2 traveller’s hostels.
The flora is extensive and the park is a breeding ground for a wide variety of birds from northern and southern Scandinavia. In winter, you have a good chance of seeing a golden eagle at its feeding site.
At any time of year you can book guided tours of the park. A popular summer activity is snowshoe walks across the wetland!
The Naturum visitor centre is a source of inspiration and a meeting place for all nature enthusiasts. It can be used as the starting point for a walk around lake Kävsjön. Right next to Naturum is Transtigen, a 200-metre path with a mini bird-watching tower for children and information boards for shorter excursions.
There is accommodation and there are a number of trails adapted for prams, wheelchairs and sight impaired visitors. The visitor centre naturum lends out Braille and audio guides free of charge.
There is plenty of parking and a very good free map available at naturum or at the tourist office.
